The 2012 contest will follow the same format as last year’s contest, but with a few changes. There will only be 6 categories instead of 7, the contest will only last 30 days, and fans will be able to increase the dollar amount of the grand prize.

“At the conclusion of the 2011 contest, we had feedback from both contestants and fans who felt that the contest was still too long,” said Petra, contest organizer. “So this year we’re going to run 3 elimination rounds in 30 days. Since 2006, AEBN has calculated the most popular films and the stars of the year based on viewing habits of the millions who visit the company’s network of VOD theaters and celebrated those winners with the VOD Awards. The Iron Man event is a triathlon that consists of a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride and then a 26.2 mile run.

Paul was able to complete his challenge in 12 hours 22 minutes and 41 seconds, an impressive 82 minutes quicker than his one and only previous iron man distance event, which took place in Roth, Germany last year.

Despite suffering several injuries in preparation for the Florida’s Iron Man event, Paul is determined to continue supporting The Prostate Cancer Charity.

“When I became involved with The Prostate Cancer Charity, I made a commitment as founder member to do my very best for them. I feel the only way to do that is that is to do something over and above the normal,” says Paul whose next target is to complete Iron Man distance events in Copenhagen on the 12th August next year, followed by an Iron Man distance challenge in France the following week.

SWAAY’s text-only billboard reads, “Sex worker: a person who consensually exchanges their own sexual labor or sexual performance for compensation. Sex work is not the same as forced sex trafficking or sex slavery. Learn about the people and facts behind sex work at SWAAY.org.” Any variation of the group’s message was banned by Clear Channel, CBS, Lamar, Regency, Van Wagner, Avant Outdoor, LA Transit Authority, and Outdoor Solutions, but was finally picked up by a mobile billboard company.

The sex workers’ rights billboard was paid for by 115 supporters on EpicStep.com, a Kickstarter-like website that allows grassroots activist groups to crowdsource the funding of a media campaign. Previous billboards successfully launched through Epic Step include messages in support of WikiLeaks and accused war crimes whistle-blower Bradley Manning.

SWAAY was founded in June of this year to address the public’s misconceptions due to the lack of factual and accessible information about sex work, and to fight against the outright lies and “junk science” statistics pushed by moral and religious crusaders who advocate for further criminalization and stigmatization of sex workers.

A sex worker is a person who exchanges their own sexual labor or sexual performance for compensation, such as an escort/prostitute, porn star, stripper, dominatrix, phone sex operator, sensual masseuse, or web cam performer. Sex workers are part of the larger sex industry - which includes adult movie directors, club owners, webmasters, retail stores, and more - but are distinct because their job involves making money off of their own sexual labor, not writing about, photographing, managing, or selling the sexual labor or performances of others.

The St. James Infirmary, a San Francisco clinic that provides free healthcare to sex workers, has faced similar struggles this month with their own media campaign. Originally planning to use billboards to spread their “Someone You Know is a Sex Worker” message, the nonprofit’s ads were rejected by Clear Channel and CBS Outdoor, but eventually found a home on Muni buses.

“Bad laws and hurtful social stigmas work together in a vicious cycle that makes life more dangerous and difficult for the people who engage in sex work,” says Sabrina Melmoth, a volunteer with the group. “SWAAY seeks to chip away at both problems by sharing non-sensationalized, first-person information about life as a sex worker, and advocating for the full decriminalization of sex work.”

According to initial figures, ASACP’s CP Reporting Hotline processed 5,826 raw reports of suspected child pornography in October, forwarding 928 unique reports to international law enforcement authorities and other entities for further investigation.

Since 2003, ASACP’s CP Reporting Hotline and related data collection and analysis program has played an important role in protecting children and businesses — having processed more than 620,000 reports of suspected child pornography and forwarding nearly 95,000 confirmed “Red Flag” incidents to relevant authorities.

ASACP staff, including the association’s Executive Director Tim Henning, also participated in 10 separate special investigations, both domestically and abroad, during October.

“Many people outside of the organization do not realize just how much daily activity happens behind the scenes at ASACP,” Henning stated. “ASACP is frequently called upon to assist its members and sponsors, the mainstream community and public and government organizations, as well as judicial representatives and law enforcement authorities, on an international level.”

“Due to the nature of the work the hotline accomplishes, it is usually not possible for ASACP to make public any details surrounding the reports, investigations or assistance it provides,” Henning added. “This situation makes it hard for the association to illustrate its ongoing value since we are not allowed to reveal the pivotal role we play, or the actual results we obtain.”

Because online CP distribution trends are constantly changing, ASACP will continue its vital mission of informing and educating stakeholders, with plans to periodically release updates to its first whitepaper, “ASACP Hotline Report: Online Child Pornography Data and Analysis,” (www.asacp.org/whitepaper/ASACP-whitepaper-9-10-2010.pdf), with a 2012 update planned.

“We are personal fans of Raven Alexis and thought that it would be a kind gesture to help her offset her medical costs buy donating the proceeds to her,” said William Dodson, owner of Naughty Swag. “One of the things that touched us about Raven was that even given her current state of health, she is still looking out for those in need and asked instead to donate all the proceeds to St. Jude. It definitely shows what a caring person Raven is and we want to help the best way we can.”

“My fiance, Stephen, and I both feel that it would be most fitting, appropriate and rewarding for us to donate the money that is raised from the sales of the t-shirt”, says Raven Alexis. “I have a special soft spot for cancer now obviously, and always have had one for children. Way before I ever got sick, I gave my fans free subscriptions and merchandise to my websites in exchange for donating to charities that I listed on my site. So for me, it’s a fitting gesture to donate this money to people who really desperately need help.”
