San Diego, CA (PRADULT) January 30, 2006 — In a temporary setback, organizers of Pink+Aid (pinkaid.org) learned last week that their designated charity would not accept any funds from an organization linked to pornography.

“I’m a little shocked,” said co-organizer Halcyon. “They basically said, ‘We’d rather sit in the mud than take your dirty money.’”

The official response from Habitat actually invited porn stars to come help in person, even though they couldn’t take any money that a porn star might have raised: “While Habitat is unable to accept funding from the pornography industry, we welcome your volunteerism in local communities.”

They probably mean volunteering building houses, but maybe they have special outreach programs for porn stars in the community.

“Handjob Hints for Housewives” perhaps?! It does have a nice ring to it!

Luckily, all of the donations so far were directly contributed to Habitat.org by Pink+Aid participants, and not through Pink+Aid itself , and the bulk of the money is yet to come - with the upcoming months as the Pink+Aid1 DVD is sold.

“A lot of people said, ‘why not just donate it anonymously?’ Screw that! The whole point of Pink+Aid is to use your genitals for good; to be proud of your sexuality. It goes against the entire principle of Pink+Aid to slip the money under the door,” explained tassy PINK, the other half of PINK+AID’s pink-haired organizing team.

Pink+Aid was lucky to find some smaller, Katrina-focused groups who were more than happy to use the semen-stained funds. “We went back to the people that inspired Pink+Aid in the first place, the Burning Man community. We knew that a number of Burners had gone to New Orleans to rebuild and we were quickly put in contact with them after the Habitat fiasco. We are thrilled to announce that all Pink+Aid proceeds will be going to two organizations actively working in Louisiana currently: Burners Without Borders & Disaster Corps. (www.disastercorps.org)
